About Me

Hey there! I’m Nick Pattas, a VFX Technical Artist working with Unreal Engine since 2021. I was part of the VFX team at Number 9 Greece for the animated series Heroes in Training by Redefine Originals. In 2024, I worked as a VFX Artist for the metroidvania game Somber Echoes by RockPocket Games. I’m currently working on a new horror title, delivering visually striking and occasionally creepy visual effects.

My main areas of specialization are simulations (fluids, rbd), shaders, and Blueprint implementations. I’m proficient in Unreal Engine, Houdini, Embergen, Blender, and Photoshop, and I can quickly adapt to new tools and workflows. I’m definitely not a programmer (yet), but I’m more than willing to get my hands dirty with code, from Unreal’s C++ and HLSL to custom Python scripts for making awesome tools.

Alongside my professional career, I’m constantly developing personal projects ranging from Virtual Production to mobile game development. Basically, every screen and medium is my playground. Through the indie creative hub that I co-founded with Achilles Apostolou, Blurspot, I’ve worked on more than 20 audiovisual projects across different formats and scales. Since 2021, I’ve also been part of an international team developing a unique mobile game in Unreal Engine, which we hope will impress upon release.
